Do The Robot : The Saints

It's All Saints Day so what better reason to post something by The Saints, the antipodean punk pioneers who's debut single was released in September '76, making them the first 'punk' group outside the USA to release a single. The Saints are still active and are hailed as a major influence on the punk genre.

Do the Robot (AKA International Robots) is taken from their 1978 LP 'Eternally Yours', although it does appear as a bonus track on one re-issue of their 1977 debut album '(I'm) Stranded'. This is proper punk, not that 'shock your granny' punk-pop that the Sex Pistols sold us... enjoy!

  1. After I discovered "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Part 1" and "This Gigantic Robot Kills" in the same week on Spotify, I felt inspired to put together a robot themed playlist. I discovered your blog today and it has been extremely helpful in my quest. Thanks introducing me to "We're In Business", "Ska Robot Army", "We Are the Robot Pirates", and for reminding me that "I'm Still Alive" exists. You've easily got the best list of robot themed songs out there. The only song I've found that isn't on your list is the fairly recent Red Hot Chili Peppers track "Go Robot."

    1. Coincidentally... it was whilst listening to Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots that i got the idea too... at the time i could think of about 6 robot songs and set myself a challenge to find 101... I'm currently working through a list approaching 400! ...and that Chilli Peppers track isn't on it, so thank you :)
